More on VOIP

Actually, Scott, Vonage is a customer of my company's. The VOIP companies have to have drop off points in most metropolitan areas so that calls can complete to regular telephones. The real threat will be when companies begin to offer WIFI broadband for real, and people realize that they can connect anywhere for free or nearly free.

The holdup will be that 911 stuff in the article. Plus the FBI may add ridiculous charges for wiretap stuff.
